Cyanogenmod media storage issues

I was tempted to switch from default Android OS to Cyanogenmod 12.1 on my Sony Xperia Z1. I eventually did it on last Friday. Alas, everything was beautiful as expected until my phone become dumb!! I was neither able to play the music nor listen to default ringtones.

After googling for 2-3 hours found that the issue was related to media storage service which was unable to update its DB to capture details of music and pictures which were there on my phone’s SD card.

I re-flashed to the latest nightly build next day which fixed the problem and my phone is singing again to the tunes of Cyanogenmod…

Cyanogenmod is awesome and it rocks!!
